Sclerotherapy involves the injection of a solution which acts as an irritant to destroy the offending veins

It typically targets thread veins and small blood vessels less than a few mm in size, but not varicose veins.
Consultation for this treatment includes Doppler ultrasound scan and measurement for compression hosiery. Hosiery should be purchased prior to the treatment.

Our clients most common questions

Does sclerotherapy hurt?

Sclerotherapy is well tolerated.

Should I rest after the treatment?

We do not recommend excessive exercise after the treatment e.g. running or the gym. However, it is important to keep mobile.

How long before I see results?

We will want to see you after 4 to 6 weeks to check on the effectiveness of the treatment.

Where can be treated?

Sclerotherapy is not for use on the face. Typically, we treat anywhere on the legs.

How many treatments will I need?

Most if not all the result is achieved on the first session. A second may be required, and more for larger areas.

I’m pregnant/breastfeeding, can I have this treatment?

Sorry, no. The risk is unknown since no research would ever be undertaken on pregnant or breastfeeding women. Medical ethics dictate therefore that it is not a risk worth taking.
